Council Member Biographies
RICHARD BENBOW
Richard is General Manager of the Community Development Department (CDD) of the City of Los Angeles. He was previously the chief operating officer for the Los Angeles City Community Redevelopment Agency where he served for 30 years. He earned his Masters degree in Urban Affairs at St. Louis University following his Bachelor degree from Elmhurst College in Missouri. He has been very active in minority business programs and played a key role in the Mayor's Minority Business Opportunity Program under Mayor Riordan.
